  1. First time I requested for some money to be transferred from my family in India to my JP bank account here, how long does it take? They transferred last Wednesday and yesterday was a holiday so if I don’t see the transferred amount of ¥235,000 by today or tomorrow, should I go to JP bank directly and enquire?

  2. My partner wants to switch mobile networks, but has been told by her current provider (GTN Mobile), that “according to the contract terms of your current plan, PREMIUM NEXT 3GB, Mobile number portability (MNP) service is not available”.

    I had thought that this was a legal requirement now? Is that not the case and we’ll just have to settle for changing numbers?

  3. I am stuck trying to register an account with SMBC.
    They want me to send them additional documents in form of my old expired residence card from last year, but I cannot submit it cause the expiration date must be 3 months or later from today…

    I don’t get it.
    The page specifically says “voided residence card”, but expects it to be valid?

  4. This week I learned that, even if you were married overseas, prenups are basically void in Japan.

    It’s a bit surprising, considering it’s a legally-binding contract between two parties. But Japan says who cares?

  5. At language school, the teachers skip over me when we take turns reading aloud from the textbook. I crush all the kanji tests, but I guess they assume I can’t read it.

    They’re right lol.

    Same guy span of six months or so, weirdly creepy and kinda funny.

  8. Got a spare ticket for the Smashing Pumpkins gig at the Budokan tomorrow. Got 4th row seats, SS. If anyone’s interested, can meet outside tomorrow as I’d rather it didn’t go to waste.

  9. How long does it take for SMARI to return an item, I filed for a return on amazon and put the game in the box almost 2 weeks ago and I still haven’t gotten refunded. Amazon says the order is in progress

  10. My schools gave me the rest of the week off because of events and all I would be doing is sitting around. Of course I have to make the days up later, but it all works out and no conflicts with my own personal vacation time.
