Tokyo itinerary – feedback welcome

We’re in Tokyo for three nights near Bakurocho station over a weekend in October (as part of a longer trip to Japan).

We’ll arrive on the Friday evening after a long couple of days so will mostly likely just find something to eat near the hotel then crash.

As there’s so much we want to see, we’re trying to prioritise and I’ve drafted the following itinerary:

Saturday:
– explore Kichijoji neighbourhood/have lie-in
– 11am: Buy cream puffs from Shirohige cream puff bakery
– 11-11:50am: eat cream puffs in Inokashira Onshi park then walk through park to Ghibli Museum
– 12noon Ghibli Museum (tickets booked for this time – should we arrive slightly early?)
– 4-5pm train to Shinjuku
– 5pm view from Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building (aiming for sunset, allowing 30mins queue)
– have dinner somewhere in or near Shinjuku (recommendations welcome)
– Shinjuku Golden Gai

Sunday:
– train to Yokohama
– Hara model railway museum
– train to Yanaka Ginza
– shop at Yanaka Ginza, Ameyoko Shopping Street, Akihabara
– see Senso-Ji temple in evening (lit up)

Feedback is welcome – the only thing we cannot change is the Ghibli Museum. My husband particularly wants to go to Hara and I particularly want to go to Yanaka Ginza. He’s also keen on Akihabara.

Specific questions I’d especially appreciate help with:
– Is the Sunday late afternoon/early evening shopping plan practical?
– dinner/lunch recommendations (we’ll probably have late lunch on Saturday in the Ghibli Museum), happy to have lunch in Yokohama or near Yanaka Ginza (or bento on train)
– does anything not work at all/obviously a terrible idea?

Other things we wanted to see but don’t think we can fit:
– Jimbocho (may go the morning before we leave for Hiroshima)
– Gotokuji temple (I was thinking of fitting it in between Ghibli and Shinjuku, but getting there looks tricky/time consuming)
– Kiyosumi Park
– Monzennakacho neighbourhood
– Shibuya Crossing
– Imperial Palace East Gardens

If any of these seem like they would work with the other things we have, do let me know.

Thank you!
