J Find visa, must CoE be presented with visa upon arrival?

For some context, the Certificate of Eligibility is NOT necessary for this visa (applying from US), but we applied to speed up process of visa approval. In our approved visas, the CoE is mentioned in the Remarks section.

On the Japanese government website, it says that you must enter the country before the expiration of your CoE, but I was under the impression this doesn’t apply to the J-Find because the CoE isn’t a required document to begin with.

I want to ask if anyone here has some anecdotal evidence of themselves successfully entering the country with an expired CoE and J-Find visa. Thank you!
