  1. Because of the earthquakes, tall buildings are not as common as other parts of the world. So you often get to see more sky.

I lived in Chiba before. Then Tokyo and always felt something was missing. Moved back to the suburbs and got my widescreen sky view back!

  2. maybe its the lack of tall trees (cedar, hemlock, etc) that makes it feel more expansive or something? dunno

  3. Light pollution. Best skies I’ve ever seen were in Marfa, Texas in winter. So many stars it made my eyes hurt.

  4. This is light pollution illuminating the sky from below? The last one is just some cool clouds which you can get anywhere on Earth. You have weird standards, bro.

  5. Different seasons have different cloud formations. Sometimes they seem more visible than others. At this time of year, I enjoy my Osaka pollution “Thai sunsets”.

  6. Because the clouds are low as fuck. They’re much higher in my hometown, but there are cities in my country where they’re as low too

  7. It’s just a sky. Though, I can relate when I was in Macau before China focused on cleaning up air pollution I never saw a blue sky there, so when I went back to the states I was starring at the sky for a solid half hour. This was about 10 years ago.

I went back last year I actually saw a blue sky.
