New grad job hunting advice?

Hey all, I’m currently going to a Japanese grad school for business, and planning to work in Japan after I graduate. I tried applying for some internships to a few big Japanese companies, and even though my resume is pretty strong (at least I think), they all denied me. My first assumption is that my SPI / Web Test scores weren’t good enough, because even though I have N1 Japanese, I am nowhere close to being able to answer the 国語reading questions on those tests.  

So basically, does anyone have some advice for job hunting, especially for people who struggle with SPI / Web Tests? Japanese companies, foreign companies, big, small, advice related to anything is much appreciated
