I’m not sure what to do. I was having some drinks and singing (loudly, I must admit) when I felt strong poundings through the wall followed by intense knocking and ringing on my doorbell. When I went out to see who it was, my neighbor, wielding long scissors in his right hand, started ranting about how I was annoying everyone. My reaction was laughing and asking why the hell he was wielding scissors, he answered he was “cutting some boxes” but kept holding them. This went on for some minutes and, being 2am, i felt helpless but I tried for dialogue and, although still pissed off, he put them aside. I asked him repeatedly out of nervousness and fear why he brought them but he insisted on the noise issue so I told him I would stop. He told me I wasn’t able to live in a japanese apartment, scolded me repeatedly and then dismissed me, going into his apartment, before grabbing his scissors.
I fear further violent interactions so I want to ask, has anyone seen or lived something similar? What should I do? I already sent a complaint to the building management but I think if I try the police they will dismiss it since I have no evidence to sustain my claims.
