Kokuho, the kabuki film that's become the highest grossing domestic live-action film ever, announced its North American distribution earlier this month. English subtitled screenings in Japan will begin on 10/3 at Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Hibiya, Roppongi, and Yokosuka theaters (also Nagoya, Osaka, and Okinawa). Note: It's 3 hours long.

  1. Gorgeous looking film. Glad it’s getting a North American release

Not gonna lie, I hope it gets nominated for an Oscar

  2. The announcement tweet being in Japanese and referring viewers to the theater websites for more info that doesn’t seem to be posted yet is certainly a Choice.

Really hope this is a proper 2-3 screenings/day rather than just one screening a day at 9am, have heard nothing but good things.
