Hi,
I am moving to Japan for roughly 10 months this November. I have everything sorted for my flight and visa and job. I will be living in Hokkaido for ~6 months accommodated with work.
I’m then interested in travelling the country and my current estimates is I have potentially 4 months to travel. I need to be home by next September anyway. I have a long itinerary of what I want to see, but through experience of my own and my friends we all love actually living in a place when travelling rather than just moving constantly.
My plan then is to travel the main body of Japan over May, June and potentially part of July. Just from research and placement I decided I wanted to finish my trip living in Kyushu for a good amount of time such as 6 weeks. That would place those weeks in my itinerary during July and all of August. As I understand Japan gets incredibly humid in the summer, and I was wondering if maybe my idea of staying in Kyushu just wouldn’t be best during August hence the question of what it is like ?
I will likely have a car and be also living with my girlfriend if that information is useful at all.
Would love some advice on what life and climate is like during that month. And what living in the city of Fukuoka is like ? Or if anyone has any recommendations of towns or villages in the Kyushu region ( I think I’d rather live in a town than a city but cities are much more accessible ) any advice would be great !
