3-year-old girl hospitalized with vomiting and fever after detergent found in Hama Sushi ice cream at Natori Mori Sekinoshita store

On the 19th, the sushi chain Hama-Sushi announced that a 3-year-old girl was hospitalized after consuming ice cream contaminated with detergent at their Natori store in Miyagi Prefecture on the 17th. The girl experienced symptoms such as vomiting, fever, and eye irritation. She was admitted to the hospital on the 17th and discharged on the 19th.

The incident occurred because an employee had mistakenly placed a detergent spray tool sideways on top of a freezer after closing the store on the 16th, causing detergent to leak into the freezer. Hama-Sushi stated they would reinforce their safety protocols and strengthen their management practices to prevent future incidents.
