Two Japanese men were shot and killed in Manila on Friday night after stepping out of a taxi, local media reported.

Police said an assailant approached the men on a busy street, opened fire, and fled with their belongings on a motorcycle. Both victims died at the scene.

The Japanese Embassy in Manila confirmed their identities and said it was providing support to families and associates.
