Whoops I posted this on the wrong Japan Subreddit first, whoops!
Hello!
I've seen other folks throw their trip plans prior to their trip. This is me and my friends itinerary. We don't have a lot of 'we need to go to this spot and then this spot and then here and then there', it's mostly just us making a path to go through for each day/covering the areas and deciding what we want to do depending on crowds, energy, and general time constraints.
There are some reservations like the two team labs activities, the ghibli museums, and universal!
The feedback I'm looking for here is suggestions for various shops/places/events/etc in any of the areas that we are going as well as seeing if any day is overloaded. If a day is 'under-loaded', which I highly doubt, the time will be used for needed rest or for something else.
- Osaka Hotel – Umeda Area
- Kyoto Hotel – Slightly south west of Gion.
- Tokyo Hotel – Near Jimbocho Station/North of Imperial Palace
OSAKA
Sunday
- Arrival/Check In
- Rest / Explore Area
Monday – Mostly serving as an arrival day, check out things near our hotel.
- Osaka Castle
- Tenma Market
- Explore Umeda (Around Hotel)
- Return To Hotel
- Dotonbori
Tuesday – Mostly just Universal Studios, may be open to other things.
- Universal Studios
- Night time exploration if time/energy
Wednesday – Tour around the various districts of Osaka/Team Labs at night.
- Shinsekai
- Museum of Fine Arts
- Den Den Town
- Kuromon Market
- Nanmba
- Team Lab Botanical Gardens. (8pm)
Kyoto
Thursday – Leaving Osaka, going to Kyoto
- Umeda Sky Building (Osaka)
- Hotel Check Out
- Osaka to Kyoto (12:30pm)
- Kyoto Station
- Sannezaka
- Kiyomizu-Dera
- Yasaka Shrine
Friday – Arashiyama
- Monkey Park
- Katsura River Area
- Togetsukyo Bridge
- Tenryu-ji Temple
- Toei Studio Park (if time permits)
- Hotel Rest
- Kyoto Gion Night Tour (8 pm)
Saturday – Going through popular Kyoto spots. Mostly roaming around these areas.
- Tori Gates
- Nishiki Market
- Higashiyama
- Gion
Tokyo
Sunday – There is a flea market in Kyoto we may consider going too, but the morning may just be waking up / leaving to Kyoto
- Arrive in Tokyo (3pm)
- Rest Day (hotel is next to Spa LaQue, either going here or resting in hotel)
Monday – Most of Tokyo right now is 'general areas' and not exactly strong plans on what to do within these areas.
- Asakusa
- Ueno Park
- Akhibara
- Tokyo Skytree (maybe if we can squeeze it in the day)
Tuesday – Harujuku may be put off, curious to check it out, but heard how it's not exactly a great spot to go these days unless you know where you're going.
- Jingu
- Shibyuay
- Harujuku
- Roppengi
- Team Labs Borderless (7:30pm)
- Tokyo Tower
Wednesday – Potentially a rest day, we will be more into the trip at this point. If we don't get to anything here, it may be moved to Saturday or off all together.
- Imperial Palace
- Ginza Area
- Miniature Museum
- Minato City
Thursday – This day is based around the Ghbili Museum reservation – This day will be having some revisions as I've been told that the day should be focused around the Ghibli Museum. Considering just keeping the morning to be a 'area around the hotel / museum' kind of day, and still keep the night for Shinjuku. Worse case scenario we float these areas on Saturday/Friday.
- Ikubukuro
- Ghibli Museum (2:30pm)
- The Cave (a very important store that me and friend really wanna go to. frogs)
- Shinjuku
Friday – I didn't date my days but this is Halloween. Not planning this trip as a halloween trip, but if there is something going on, we'll keep an eye out.
- Yokohama
- Keeping open for night events.
Saturday – We actually have nothing planned for this day!? Why? Tokyo is a massive city and we want to have a day that is made just for playing catch up with areas we cut because of needing rest/time constraints.
Sunday – More of the same, with us leaving to the airport at 3pm for a night flight for both me and my friend.
Thank you very much! <3
