First note that there are more Japanese dying at Japanese Northern Alps than there are foreigners. Posting the news here so any acquaintance would know the sorry news.
On Sept. 28 at around 8:35 a.m, police received a call to emergency services stating that Sonam Kim, a 57-year-old South Korean national, had fallen while climbing Mount Tsubakuro in Japanese Northern Alps.
Nagano Prefectural Police helicopter was able to reach Kim about four and a half hours after receiving a call, but he was confirmed dead.
According to the Azumino Police Station, Kim started climbing that day with a male South Korean companion from the Nakabusa Onsen and fell about 80 meters down a slope beside the trail.
