Hello everyone!
I’m a Master’s student in Comparative Criminal Law in France, currently finishing my second year. As part of my degree, I need to spend at least one month abroad. I’m considering going to Japan and writing my thesis on the comparison between the French legal framework on s harassment (which is recognized as a standalone offense) and its Japanese equivalent (where it isn’t considered as such). If anyone has thoughts or advice on this topic, I’d be really grateful!
My plan is to stay in Japan for about a month and a half. I already have the contact details of a French-Japanese law professor in Tokyo, though I haven’t reached out yet because I want to be fully sure before I commit.
My main questions are about the budget. I’ve already been to Japan before, so I don’t plan to spend much on sightseeing or traveling around. I’d just like to fully enjoy living in Tokyo for that period.
Has anyone done something similar? How do you think things will go regarding visa, housing, food costs, etc.? Do you have tips for finding affordable flights?
Basically, I’m open to any advice, tips, or personal experiences before I take the leap. Thank you so much!
