I don't want to quit this job. I like my boss, almost every other coworker is great, and it pays well enough.
It's so bizarre. He doesn't hold it against you personally but he gets frustrated at the slightest inconvenience and very visibly expresses it. He おいs at customers, he scolds our boss, he hits and abuses the machines*, he raises his hand and goes 「はい！喋ります！」with great annoyance and you do something for him (that gets you thanked by others if you do it), he goes 「い！ら！ないん！です！」very strongly. I can't fathom how someone like this hasn't been fired. Laws or I guess nobody wants to do anything and just puts up with it.
*EDIT: This one's so hilarious in hindsight but I was scared when it was happening live. He screamed at the computer like 「音、鳴れよ！！！！」 and hit the keys aggressively. I struggled explaining that in English to people outside Japan.
On my best days, I can tolerate him (and even find his antics… amusing) but on days I'm physically unwell and/or have other things really weighing on my mind, it's so stressful and unpleasant. I had to vent because today is one of the latter.
