I would like to become a singer in Japan. How can I do this?

Hello, I'm 17 years old and my dream would really be to become a singer in Japan, but I know almost nothing about it. Should I apply to a label?I did some research and went to different label websites but I don't understand if it works by audition or do we have to apply ourselves. I also don't understand the role of a person in a label after integration (and my personal research didn't help me much).Also the auditions seem rare and very selective.Thank you for your answers in advance.
