For context: short term ‘resident’ of Japan, apologies if this is the wrong thread.
I’m here for initially 6 months on a digital nomad visa, my girlfriend is Japanese and I’m here to spend time with her. I might stay longer but initially I’ve been here for 2 months and will maybe be heading home in January, or maybe staying longer.
Has anyone had experience with buying and registering and re-selling a motorcycle in Japan as a non-resident? I understand my girlfriend would need to register and the like, and there seems to be some support services for people selling bikes who can assist and then potentially buy it back at the end time.
I’m curious if anyone has any experience with this, tips, things to look out for in terms of insurance, buying gear here, using an IDP, reselling, parking, etc
Grateful for any help, and realise I’m gonna lose cash if I go ahead with it, but feel pings of jealousy every time I see a motorbike 🥲
