On Sept. 26, Cabinet Office released the preliminary results of a public opinion poll on people's daily life. Only 61.6% of people answered that they were "satisfied" or "fairly satisfied" with their meals. Although a simple comparison is not possible because survey methodology has changed, the results shows the lowest percentage since the survey started in 2008. Rising prices, especially for food, may possibility have been the cause for low satisfactions.
The total number of people who answered "dissatisfied" or "somewhat dissatisfied" was 38.0%, which is the highest ever.
Multiple selection question on policies that the government should prioritize, 73.0% selected “measures against rising prices” making it the top reply.
