  1. Inspired by [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/Kyoto/comments/1ntl7v1/the_rice_is_harvested_the_higanbana_are_in_bloom/), the wife and I took the Eizan Line to the cable car and the ropeway up to the top of Mt. Hiei.

    This view is about a one-minute walk around the hillside from the ropeway station at the top. There were no signs for it, and none of the other visitors noticed it, but it’s there.

    I’d like to go back around golden hour sometime to catch a sunset when the leaves are changing.

  2. damn thats nice. very beautiful. I did not manage to get anywhere this nice a view of kyoto from there, and i really tried to find a place to look south-westward. thought it did just not exist (at least not free, I am sure you will have a good view from the garden museum observationd eck)
