Hello, second generation Okinawan here. I recently moved to Hawaii from the mainland and will be visiting my family in Okinawa after 14 years. I want to know what some good gifts are from Hawaii that locals might appreciate? I plan to visit my old sensei’s, childhood friends, old neighbors. I could ask them but want to keep it a surprise! Any ideas would be so helpful ☺️
Also, I have been trying to learn more Japanese before I go soon so any tips on that would be very appreciative as well. My mom speaks fluently while my understanding is still very beginner. Just trying to reconnect to my roots 🌺😊
