What’s the current minimum annual income required for Japan PR (Permanent Residency)?

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to confirm the current income requirement for applying for PR in Japan.
I remember it used to be around 3 million yen, but recently I’ve heard some people say it’s now over 6 million yen.

Also, if your income is higher than the minimum, does it actually increase your chances of getting approved — or is it just a simple pass/fail requirement?
