Wow what a 120 degree move. They were originally intending to get back the Sanseito votes, however after facing massive criticism on social media, they are trying to calm down the criticism by saying "It only applies for those who commit treason, terrorism and those who gained naturalization through fraud"
First of all, there's actually a law in Japan that states that revoking naturalization is only permitted in case it is obtained through fraudulent means. So one of the 3 clauses is already out.
Secondly, "treason". What do they mean by "treason"? There isn't a proper law in Japan that states as to what constitutes as "treason". According to many critics, terms like "treason" date back to Japan's pre-war military rule where imaginary reasons like "treason" were used to punish the so-called "traitors".
Thirdly, "terrorism". I don't think any foreign forces ever committed any act of terrorism on Japan after 1945. If any terrorism ever occurred, it was committed by a Japanese, who was the leader of the cult Aum Shinrikyo, and it had more than 11K Japanese followers at a time. If a naturalized person needs to be punished, shouldn't they be punished according to Japanese laws and punished in the same way as that of a non-naturalized Japanese citizen? Setting separate laws for naturalized Japanese only creates divisions in the society. So does that mean that naturalized citizens in Japan still don't have the full legal rights as that of a Japanese citizen? Then why grant them Japanese citizenship in the first place when you can't even guarantee the same legal rights as that of a Japanese.
The series of posts by Ishin Party only proves that it is nothing, but a bunch of thug-like politicians full of scandals. The only reason Ishin Party still exists is because of their "Osaka's own party" image. However, their support is decreasing as reflected in both House of Councillors Election 2025 as well as public opinion polls.
Don't believe the fact that Ishin Party is a bunch of thugs? You can start off by how many sexual offenders are there. For starters, here are the following search phrases. You might need to use Google Translate if you can't read Japanese.
