Hello fellow parents,
I tried to find past threads and did get some hits on Google but those returned a blank page.
So here’s another one:
TLDR: looking to hear any experiences of seeking treatment for inattentive ADHD before school age
I have a 4.5 year old girl who I’ve suspected has inattentive ADHD since she was little. She’s been going to daycare from 3 years old and now in the “年中” class the teachers have already commented on her behavior multiple times. I’ve decided to pursue some kind of intervention at 発達支援センター (we are in Osaka), hopefully with the support of her daycare teachers, but would also love to hear ANY experience of finding and receiving treatment for inattentive ADHD here in case of a young child. I’d love to get the things rolling well in time before she starts actual school. I’ve heard treatment quality here might be a bit lacking so I’m worried.
My daughter is bilingual, and goes to public hoikuen. She’s very smart and has strong Japanese skills but needs constant reminders to “stay on task” even when she knows the routine. At home her play style is also very scattered, she picks up new things and moves on constantly. She’s the youngest in her class (February birthday) but she has these struggles enough that the teachers keep bringing it up…
