First timers 2 week itinerary July

Hey everyone! My fiancee and me will be first time visiting Japan in July 2026 (yeah early planning haha), and I’m trying to keep things simple but memorable with only three bases so we don’t waste too much time moving around.
We arrive at Haneda on July 15 (13:50) and fly back on July 29 (21:50) — about 14 full days in total.

Plan currently looks like this:
Start in Tokyo (July 15–19) to get used to Japan and explore areas like Shibuya, Shinjuku, Asakusa, and Harajuku. Might do a day trip to Kamakura or Nikko depending on the weather.

Then take the shinkansen to Kyoto (July 19–23) Fushimi Inari, Arashiyama, Kinkaku-ji, Gion. Planning day trips to Nara and maybe Hiroshima + Miyajima while we’re there.

After that, move on to Osaka (July 23–26) for the food and nightlife. Thinking of day trips to Himeji and Kobe if time allows.

Finally heading back to Tokyo (July 26–29) for the last few days before the flight

Does this sound reasonable for first-timers, or is it still a bit too busy with all those day trips? Would love any feedback or tweaks from people who’ve done something similar!
