Hey all, looking to do some hiking when I’m staying in Takayama. I’m a very experienced hiker and mountaineer and I’m looking to hit a hard trail somewhere in Kamikochi.
Mount Hotaka has gripped my mind ever since I’ve seen it, however, the restrictive schedule of Kamikochi park has me thinking how possible it is to do in a day. Typically, I might start a hike like this at 2 or 3 in the morning so I have plenty of time, but it seems like the first bus in Kamikochi doesn’t start until 7. The Dakesawa route seems like it’s the most feasible as it’s the shortest, but steepest route up the mountain.
Anyone ever attempted this before? I’ll take any information you have! Thank you !
