I’m planning to rent an apartment with Hmlet for three months in Tokyo. I’m on stage where I went through screening and they have sent me a contract and card registration. Although I’m a bit worried because I pay in lump and it’s a lot of money in one go. It says I have 48 hours to sign the contract and register the card and once I sign the contract the money will be taken from my account even tho my rent should start in December. Is this normal process for renting the apartment? I also started to be a bit sceptical due to finding out that Hmlet rebranded itself into habyt. I find it a bit weird, if they rebranded why the website still operates under Hmlet? Did anyone recently have an experience with renting through them and could share some info about the process?
