Why do many people prefer to take the JLPT instead of the BJT?

The BJT exam can be taken whenever you want, the JLPT only twice a year and immigration recognizes scores of 400 or higher as N2 and N1, both cost almost the same. Or there is any special reason why the JLPT is more valuable or important, I'm just thinking to prepare for the test instead of the JLPT
