Hi, I'm an internation student in Japan.
I had a pregnancy scare a few weeks ago, so I ordered abortion pills from Women on Web. I know I can get a legal abortion in Japan, but it was too expensive. I ordered the pills before I found out I was pregnant, because I wanted to account for the time it takes to be delivered.
I recently went to a clinic, and after a pee test and ultrasound, it turns out I am NOT pregnant.
However, it was too late to cancel the pills as they were already shipped. I figured I'd just send them back when they arrived.
I found out that the pills were not cleared at customs. I got a letter from the customs office saying they need more information for customs clearance, and that I need to reach out to the ministry of health to tell them the name and dosage of the pills, and ask them the exact documents I need to provide.
What do I do now? I am not pregnant and I don't need the pills. If I leave it unclaimed, will the pills be sent back?
Also, is there any way I can be arrested/depored/expelled over this? I did not find anything saying the abortion pills are a controlled substance like adderall so I thought there would be no problem. I am an international student so I am very scared.
Has anyone ordered from women on web in Japan? Or faced this probelm?
