Foreigners starting a business in Japan

I've been wondering lately if there's anyone who has thought of starting a business in Japan as a foreigner. I have been living here for a year, and ideally, I wish to settle here if I can start and set up a business here.

I was specifically exploring the hospitality and food service segment, something along the lines of a franchise. Ofc I am considering partnering up with a Japanese individual for ease of communication.

But I'm curious if someone has gone done this line of thought already and explored the various options that can be considered. Would love to hear thoughts/opinions/experiences!
