so…I forgot to apply for the student pension exemption

I am an international student; I panicked when I got the letter from the nenkin and paid like 6 months straight up, realized I messed up, and now I'm in talks with my school to get the exemption. My question is: is there a possibility, a slight chance I can get my money back…? Thanks a lot.
