Like others on this sub, I was frustrated with the rental system for CPAP machines and the needless monthly visits. Thanks to the info in other great posts here I was able to figure out a plan to import my own.
I ended up purchasing an Auto-CPAP identical to the one I rent(cpapspecials if you’re looking)and began preparing for the application for the 輸入確認証. I found a place that said they’d give me a 診断書 with a 紹介状 from my current clinic but then reversed and said they wouldn’t so I was scrambling to find a place that would give me a prescription online or something. I had everything else I needed.
Meanwhile the CPAP passed through customs and I got a notice to pay the duty. Then, today, it showed up at my place so I ended up not needing to submit any paperwork
With the recent relaxation on travelers to Japan not needing paperwork to bring in a CPAP is it possible that if you’re an individual here importing one for personal use, you don’t need the 輸入確認証? Or maybe I just got lucky?
