Confused about IKEHALO (Ikebukuro Halloween)

Hey everyone,

My wife and I recently moved to Tokyo and we’re still figuring out how events work here.

We’ve been looking into IKEHALO (Ikebukuro Halloween), but we’re a bit confused — it seems like there are parts inside Sunshine City mall and others happening outdoors around the Ikebukuro area.

Do we need to buy tickets even just to walk around the street in cosplay? Or are tickets only required for the indoor / official event areas?

Our cosplays are super simple (just regular clothes + maybe a wig). Do event staff actually check people on the street for wristbands or tickets, or is it more relaxed outside the official zones? Or is the “outside” part also restricted to registered participants only?

We just want to enjoy the event and make sure we’re not accidentally breaking any rules.

Thanks in advance to anyone who’s been before 🙏
