I have a BA degree but my husband doesn’t. Are we SOL?

(Apologies if this has been asked before!) My husband and I are considering leaving the US and moving across the world in 2029. I'm "relearning" Japanese as I haven't used the language in over a decade after leaving school. His level is around N5 and I'm in a weird spot where some is still N5 but other parts are N4.

Language barrier aside (I hope to be at N3 before getting to the final steps, his goal is N4. We're both learning keigo), there's an issue of work visas. I have a BA in art/history but a background in accounting. His background is in banking but he didn't go to college (army straight out of high school).

Because he doesn't have a BA, are we completely SOL? I know I could bring him over as a dependant but I'd rather not have a 1 income household, especially since we plan to have kids. Not unless I manage to land an extremely well paying job but I highly doubt that would happen on day 1. I've got 10 years of experience but my Japanese fluency doesn't include keigo at all right now.
