Advice for living and working in Japan

Hello everyone, I've been living in japan for around 1.5 years and just looking for advice.

I currently work in manufacturing getting an abysmal wage and am considering quitting and moving to a different company next year but… is it even worth the effort? Are there better prospects for me in this field? My workplace isn't toxic and everyone is very welcoming and friendly for the most part. I've been improving my japanese but I feel stuck here because my japanese doesn't feel like enough. I can't see myself staying in this type of job in japan for long but I don't see alternatives. I'd love to move to an office job with a good salary but what do I transition to?

Edit: since there are some questions, I'm in machining my experience from my home country is metal fabrication (journeyman). I'm currently around n4 japanese. I have spouse visa.
