How detailed do I need to be regarding a property condition statement when moving in?

I moved into a place that is 20 years old. That means the thing has definitely seen some ware and tear which I am fine with as I did a viewing but I was asked to write a document regarding the condition of the place upon moving in.

The problem is there are so many little nicks, scratches, chipped patches here and there that the thought of recording everything seems more tiresome than writing an essay at university. Not only that but I think I will be noticing something for the first time for quite some time, well beyond the submission date.

I am concerned that any little thing I leave out could be used against me when moving out to have my deposit taken away. What would be the best way to handle this?
