Question about IC Card and trains

Hi

How do i know in which trains i can board just tapping my IC Card and in which ones i need to pay an extra? It is quite confusing to me

For example, to go from Nagoya to Korankei, looks like the whole trip can be done with IC card, and the return too, to go to Kamakura too, but for example, to go from Kyoto to Nara, you need to buy a ticket

Can somebody clarify?
