Hi, We’re a group of 9 adults visiting Universal Studios Japan (USJ) in late October. We’ve already purchased our Studio Passes via Klook and plan to register them through the official USJ app.
Here’s my situation and concern:
Last year, when my family went to Tokyo DisneySea, the app required each guest to individually scan their own ticket QR code into their own phone/app account. The Disney app didn’t allow one person to hold everyone’s tickets. Each ticket had to be linked separately to the person’s account, even though we were later able to form a “group” inside the app for timed entry passes (like for Fantasy Springs).
That setup worked well, but it was a bit of a hassle — I had to distribute all the QR codes (bought through Klook) to each family member, and have each person scan their own ticket into their phone.
Now for USJ, I’m seeing different information online. Some YouTube videos and posts suggest that it’s totally fine for one person to scan and store all tickets (for example, for a family or group) in one USJ app account. But others say that each person might still need their own QR code in their own device to enter.
So I just want to clarify before I start registering:
For USJ, can one person (me) register all 9 tickets under one account on the official app and just send each member their screenshot of their ticket’s QR code?
Or do we need to follow something similar to DisneySea — where everyone must individually scan and register their own ticket in their own app account?
My current plan is:
- I’ll register all 9 tickets in my USJ app.
- I’ll send each person their individual QR screenshot for entry.
- I’ll manage everything (timed entries, etc.) under my account.
But I’m worried that when we enter the park, they might require everyone to show their ticket inside their own app.
Has anyone here gone to USJ recently with a big group and can confirm if one phone can handle all tickets? Or if we’ll need to do it Disney-style with separate devices?
Thanks in advance! Would love to hear from people who’ve actually done this — just want to avoid a repeat of our DisneySea confusion 😅
