Hi, I'm planning to spend ~24 hours in Hakone in early April, so I've created an initial plan. Obviously, things aren't going to go exactly according to my schedule, but I want to have a general idea of what to see. I plan to buy the Freepass, so I will save some time on obtaining individual tickets. Most likely this day will be during the working week.
I've spent some time with Google Maps to plan out the most logical route, and I've double-checked the time tables of the services, but I was hoping that someone who is familiar with Hakone could take a look and let me know if there can be some improvements:
Day1
- Travel from Kyoto to Odawara Station 8AM-11AM
- Bus from Odwara ST to Hakone Open Air Museum 11AM-12PM
- Visiting Hakone Open Air Museum 12PM-2PM (Ideally it would be 3h, but Cable Car end hours block me)
- Bus from Hakone Open Air Museum to Hakone En 2PM-3PM
- Cable Car from Hakone En to Mototsumiya Shrine 3PM-3:15PM
- Visiting Mototsumiya Shrine 3:15PM-4:45PM (Maybe this is too long and I could instead spend more time at the museum?)
- Cable Car from Mototsumiya Shrine to Hakone En 4:45PM-5PM (This is the last ride of the day)
- Bus from Hakone En to Green Plaza Hotel 5PM-5:30PM
- Staying at Green Plaza Hotel 5:30PM (don't know currently if there is something to do here, at this hour, probably will just relax)
Day2
- Cable Car from the Hotel to Togendai-ko 9AM-9:30AM
- Cruise around the lake, starting and finishing at Togendai-ko 9:30AM-10:30AM
- Cable Car from Togendai-ko to Gora Station 10:30AM-11:30AM
- Bus from Gora Station to Odawara Station 11:30AM-12:30PM
- Train from Odawara Station to Tokyo 12:30PM-2:30PM
- Arrival in Tokyo 2:30PM
