COVID is more dangerous for old people. And Japan has a hugh number of them…
It’s terrifying because hospitals are not funded to deal. Japanese hospitals can deny care and refuse patients for any reason. For example, I’m pregnant and like most hospitals my large hospital has a covid 0 policy. This means if I test positive when I’m in labor, I get shipped off to some unknown hospital with hope that they take me and I get an automatic c-section.
Let’s also remember doctors and nurses and staff are exhausted. They’ve been dealing with this for years with no end. We should be scared, not just of covid but the bureaucratic nightmare and isolation that comes with testing positive in this country. I hope we all make it through the winter.

Hopefully japan stops schizing about this in about 2 years.I can tell the people are getting slightly annoyed about it , i mean most people wear a mask outside because they’re scared of being judged ( or the old reasons ie: makeup… ) not b/c of any virus worries. Sometimes all it takes is a gaijin relaxing alone on the train station for them to follow and take it out.
Another one to survive without any issues whatsoever. Feels like playing video games, another level to pass.

The schools in Tokyo are swimming in COVID. They’ve sent our kids home and our daughter tested positive yesterday, her friends don’t have it but their parents do. Now I’m feeling unwell. We all had it in August.
