Besides Nagano, a trip to Koyasan was a true highlight of my trip.
This place is known as the birthplace of Shingon Buddhism, it has huge forest cemetery with 200,000 graves and we stayed couple of nights at old temple, witnessed fire rituals, monk teachings, morning ceremonies & meditations. Loved everything about it- the elaborate food dishes, cedar forests and amazing incense scents!
