Paying premiums while waiting for NHI recalculation.

Hello,

I arrived in Japan in September on a working holiday visa and came without a job. I recently received several bills for both National Pension and National Health Insurance. The NHI documents included an income declaration form for recalculating premiums based on last year’s income. Since my income last year was entirely from the Netherlands, I expect my NHI premiums to be very low.

However, I currently have one NHI bill of about ¥7,000 due this week. Should I pay this bill now and submit the income declaration form immediately, or would it be better to wait for the recalculation before paying anything?

Thank you!
