A person in NPO picking trash thrown out from cars first thought the bottles were thrown out by tourists including foreign tourists because their numbers were increasing. However, they still found urine bottle during covid when foreigners tourists were restricted from entering Japan. They now think they are being thrown out by truck drivers who needs to go but can't find a rest area nearby. It seems the truck drivers are peeing inside their trucks and throwing the bottles out the window.

It is everywhere, and not just mount fuji. It has nothing to do with the tourists.
Also garbage bags are strewn everywhere with how complex Japan’s garbage disposal system is, people just throw their bags in the dead of night on a lightness road.
With how long the workday is, people do not have time to go through an elaborate sorting scheme.
It’s not unique to japan it’s a problem worldwide.
Hey people. Don’t make Japan like the US. Keep Japan clean! They have the cleanest and most available bathrooms in the world. Please be considerate.

You can find trash on freeway style roads like R296 going from Narita to route 16 where truck drivers throw their conbini trash out the window and the police need to start cracking down on this shit.
Japan is just way too lenient with this kind of stuff and needs to crack down and start fining this sort of trashy behavior.
Drive around most cities and you will see them on the medians

The exit slip on the Meihan Kokudou at Kameyama just before it becomes the tolled Higashi Meihan towards Nagoya is always littered with tons of theee bottles full of piss. It’s not tourists, it’s truckers.
Do these fewls find it inconceivable that local people might not litter in the countryside?
