Free high school education to exclude international/foreign schools; LDP, Komeito and Nippon Ishin plan to fund from tax


TL;DR On Oct. 18, it was found that LDP, Komeito and Nippon Ishin are aiming to reach on an agreement to make high school tuition free without income restriction. The plan, however, excludes international/foreign schools. To fund the project, tax increase is seemed as necessary. The proposal also includes provisions to review the plan approximately three years to make any necessary revisions.

The proposal will terminate assisting students going to foreign schools in Japan. They also exclude students who are not expected to settle in Japan, such as international students as foreign students attending Japanese high schools.
