[Spoilers] SJTL 2025 – Night Seven (10/30) Results — A Block finals

Wolf watch: absent

Masatora Yasuda, Boltin Oleg def
Zane Jay, Tatsuya Matsumoto — (8:33, Boston Crab)

  • Matsumoto almost forgot about the fistbump.

  • Zane steps up to Boltin first, but it’s Matsumoto and Yasuda who start.

  • This was pretty good; Oleg gave the Junior YL a lot.

  • Post match, Zane helps Matsumoto out if the ring and to the back.

  • In his Backstage Comments, Matsumoto appeals to “join the Goto Revolutionary Army.”

Yujiro Takahashi, Dick Togo, Yoshinobu Kanemaru def Shoma Kato, YAMATO, Tiger Mask — (9:58, Pimp Juice)

  • HoT wait until the entrance announcements are over to attack. After a brief outside brawl, Nobu and Dick bring Tiger into the ring to start.

  • HoT Shenanigans level: light-moderate. Quite a bit of attempting to un-Tiger Tiger…

  • …which Dick accomplishes after the match ends. We then get Tiger-Dick-to-dick contact.

Hiroshi Tanahashi, Yuki Yoshioka, KUSHIDA def Katsuya Murashima, KUUKAI, El Desperado — (11:20, High Fly Flow)

  • Post entrances everyone briefly gets in each other’s faces, including Tana and his current attendant Murashima.

  • KUSHIDA and KUUKAI start.

  • This was also pretty good. But not Tana’s finest HFF.

  • Post match, the SJTL teams have a brief staredown before Despe and KUUKAI help Murashima leave.

  • Tana’s fanservice goes on pretty long, this was another final match in [insert town here].

OSKAR[w/Yuto-Ice], Robbie X, Taiji Ishimori def Hartley Jackson, Ichiban Sweet Boys (Kosei Fujita, Robbie Eagles) — (9:21, Sleeper Hold)

  • Ishimori and Fujita start.

  • Bomboclaat level: .5 – OSKAR tried it, mannerisms and all, but it was countered by Hartley; who then mocked the mannerisms before hitting a senton.

  • Post match, OSKAR and Yuto push the YL away and stand on Big Jag’s

  • Meanwhile the SJTL participants talk a little shit to each other.

  • Both Ishimori and X do the climbing over the ropes thing to leave right after OSKAR steps over the top rope.

  • OSKAR’s sleeper really needs a name. Anyone who knows German, feel free to start workshopping in the comments.

If you haven’t been paying attention, the only match that matters in this Block is the main event; with the winner of that winning the Block.

SJTL 2025 A Block: Jakob Austin Young, Templario (2 points) def Daiki Nagai, Clark Connors (0 points) (point totals prior to this match) — (10:46, Jakob’s Ladder)

  • Nagai (whose hair looks really nice today) starts with Templario.

  • Wheel-san makes an appearance fairly early; with Clark taking him out but then distracting the ref so Nagai can utilize him. Nagai had said in Backstage Comments that he wants to be the one to get the win here.

  • Post match, Clark carries Wheel-san out while Nagai limps out in front. He turns back to tell the camera “this [Nagai] is the future of the company.”

SJTL 2025 A Block: Funky Karats (Dragon Dia, Ryusuke Taguchi) (4 points) def Gedo, Hiromu Takahashi (2 points) — (14:08, Tagu-chan’s passed down Gedo Clutch Gaesino)

  • After his ass is thoroughly checked, Guch and Hiromu start; but Gedo tries to sneak attack and then we get some double teaming from both teams.

  • Hiromu has declared that not only will they win this match, Gedo will be the one to get the pin.

  • This was fun. The Hiromu/Gedo team was really fun overall.

  • Post match, Gedo and Hiromu console each other while Funky Karats do fanservice.

SJTL 2025 A Block: SHO, DOUKI (8 points) def Master Wato, YOH (8 points) — (16:56, schoolboy [after a sheet shot])

  • Customary SHO shit-talking: “Fukui is going extinct, a dead town. Just like Wato over here. Listen and be grateful of your double champion DOUKI!”

  • He passes the mic to DOUKI: “Wato, what happened to you? You haven't showed up like the rival you used to be. There's miles between us!” That prompts the faces to attack.

  • After an outside brawl, Wato brings DOUKI into the ring.

  • HoT Shenanigans level: mid-high. Multiple chair appearances, wrench utilization, piping.

  • Yeah so you should actually watch this one because there’s something interesting brewing with Wato.

  • Whelp, we are one step closer to the nightmare/dream scenario of HoT winning the tourney. They’ll face either Yuki/KUSHIDA, Ishimori/X, or Ichiban Sweet Boys in the finals.

  • SHO grabs the mic as they leave: “That's what I said from the start, you idiots forgot. We're on a different level! You losers in Fukui can listen to those losers' apology press conference!”

  • YOH comes in to ice Wato. He asks for the mic: “Sorry, Fukui, we couldn't win. But I still think Fukui is my favourite place in Japan. I came here and did promotion here on radio and TV, and when I said that I liked this place, they asked me where. I didn't have an answer, but I do now- it's right here in front of you fans. Wato, you are my best partner. I'm gonna leave, so please send the people home.”

  • YOH drops the mic and leaves the ring. Wato grabs the mic and rolls onto his back on the Lion mark: “I lost the way I did. I don't have anything to say. But I do like Fukui.” (There’s an awkward pause before the production realizes that was the end of the promo and play Wato’s music.)
