I live in a somewhat rural part of Japan, with the total incorporated population around 500k. I have a dog that as most do loves taking walks and smelling most everything along the way. I also enjoy the walks, but my biggest concern is the lack of walking paths here. Coupled with the darting and zooming k-trucks that dominate the roadway I have to be very careful about where and how we walk. My question for those who live in larger urban areas: is it easier to walk your dogs? Whenever I drive to places such as Tama or Saitama I see the wide flood plain like fields with adjoining foot/bicycle path. Makes a little jealous. I assume it easier to walk your dogs along this path as it is free of automobile traffic. Comments please.
