I just got out of the Shinkansen from Tokyo in Tsuruga and was surprised by the number of Western tourists (mainly in groups of 2-4) who transferred onto the Thunderbird line to Kyoto. It made me wonder where all of them had been visiting before that? Does anyone have an idea?
