Takaichi says LDP and Nippon Ishin party’s basic policies are almost identical. Tamaki with DPP likely won’t form coalition with LDP

TL;DR On Oct. 15, LDP president Takaichi met with Osaka Governor Yoshimura and co-leader Fujita Fumitake of Nippon Ishin party and requested that they vote for her in the prime ministerial nomination election and that they cooperate. The two parties agreed to begin policy discussions with a view to forming a coalition government on the 16th.

In a separate meeting, Takaichi also asked DPP leader Tamaki about joining a coalition government, but Tamaki indicated he would not likely accept.
