Coalition talks could bring Takaichi closer to being PM

The LDP president, Yoshimura said, told him that the party is willing to work with Nippon Ishin on its secondary capital plan, which would allow Osaka to act as a substitute for Tokyo if needed.

If Nippon Ishin, which has 35 seats in the Lower House, agrees to vote for Takaichi, she will have a maximum total of 231 votes — two votes short of a majority.

Tamaki added that the DPP had more in common with Takaichi policywise.
