Hello! I’ll be heading to Okinawa w my group of friends soon 🙂 we’re ladies in our early 20s staying in Urasoe.
Was hoping to ask around if theres anything we should prepare beforehand ? Is a digital immigration card needed before entering okinawa ?
How about the plugs in okinawa? Is a travel adapter enough or should we bring a voltage converter? (We’re Singaporeans)
Are there any particular things we should be doing ? We’re planning to go to Zamami island, explore the beaches on mainland (would appreciate some recommendations, because i saw of some swimming seasons so im not too sure if the beached will be closed entirely?)
Also would loveee food recs! We’re open to eating anything! We’ve saved a couple food spots on Tiktok. Ofc we’ll be checking out American village, naha shopping district & makishi public market.
We’ve rented a car for our time in Okinawa so we might spend a day in the north exploring Hiji waterfall, nakijin castle, emarald beach. We’re not sure if we’re planning too much in 1 day. So hoping to ask about the traffic too. How much buffer time should we give ourselves ?
Was also hoping to ask about the party scene, where should we check out?
Any thrift shop recs? I’d love to buy a cam recorder or digital cameras
I hope its ok to be asking all these questions😭 really sorry if its too much or annoying. Thank you so much in advance! If anyone would like to link up while we’re there, we’d be open to do that 🙂

We loved the food and the vibe at San Francisco cafe in American Village.
My favorite place was Ton Ton House!! Japanese ceramic shop where everything was 100 yen! The best place ever if you want really neat souvenirs. Japanese plates, bowls, cups, anything and for so cheap. Cash only! https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTMgm6FL5/
Ramen Paradise was the best ramen I ate in Okinawa https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTMgmrycA/
I rented a car too, traffic is heavier in the evening around 5 but that’s as expected. Otherwise not bad and easy to drive in as a foreigner.
Yes you need the card but on the plane they will hand out the physical one to fill out.
Bring a converter just incase, my house has American outlets but they may differ
I too am going to the waterfall this weekend haha
Naha has a good party scene and gate 2 if you want to be around Americans. American village is great also got everyone
I have a Google maps pic that shows all the beaches, food etc
btw I’d also post the general questions about Japan immigration and electrics to r/japantravel There’s many more people there who answer those types of questions every day. 10x bigger than this group.
Okinawa aquarium is my favorite place, If you don’t mind to get wet, Blue Cave is popular as well for your safety you should ask local dive shops . Okinawa Prefectural Peace Memorial Museum if you don’t mind to feel sad. Okinawa has unique cultural and historic The ocean is beautiful.
Edited : typo.
Just FYI, Hiji Waterfall is inaccessible since last year as the flooding destroyed the walkway. You might try Ta-taki instead.
If you’re keen on outdoor activities there is Kayaking and water buffalo rides in Kin Village.

Also try Taco rice which is basically Taco meat on rice instead of taco shells.
The most famous one is Taco King and the original branch is in Kin but there are a few branches elsewhere and one near Urasoe too. If you do go to Kin village there is another Taco rice shop that does only takeout but the value is really good I feel so that’s worth checking out as well.
