Hello! Is anyone here familiar with DUNS numbers?
I’m already a sole proprietor (個人事業主) and am currently applying for a DUNS number. One of the DUNS requirements is proof of submission for your 個人事業の開業届出.
Before this year, you could get that proof by printing an extra copy of the application form and having the tax office stamp it. However, it seems that this year, the tax office has stopped stamping these documents. Another form of proof is available if you applied via e-Tax. You can apparently send the application notification as evidence.
Unfortunately, I applied in person, so I don’t have either of those proofs.
Another question: I didn’t specify a 屋号 (business name) when I originally applied, and it looks like that’s also required for the DUNS number.
Has anyone dealt with this situation before? I’m considering reapplying online, but I’m not sure if submitting the 個人事業の開業届出 a second time in the same month would cause issues. Any advice would be appreciated!
