
TL;DR On Oct. 14, Chiba District Court handed down a 16 year prison sentence to Kengo Takanashi (22) from Asahi ward, Yokohama for series of assault and robbery incidents that occurred during Oct. of last year. Assault and robbery were part of the illegal part-time job that Takanashi applied.
Presiding Judge Shu Mizukami pointed out the victims experienced extreme fear that they might be killed and abandoned. He ruled that the assaults were akin to torture.
On October 16th of last year, Takanashi with Shu Fujii (27) broke into a private home in Kasugai, Aichi Prefecture and assaulted two female residents who suffered serious and minor injuries before escaping with stolen cash and a car.
On the following day, Takanashi with Fujii and Rikuto Kubota (22), broke into a private home in Ichikawa, Chiba and assaulted a woman who suffered serious injury. They then took the money and abducted her.
Fujii and Kubota were indicted by the Yokohama District Court for the crime they committed a day earlier on Oct. 15th. They broke into a private home in Yokohama and assaulted and killed a man (75) before escaping with cash and other valuables.
